SVHOA Board Meeting – February 25, 2003

The meeting began at approximately 6:00 p.m.

Board members present: Don, Matt, Charlie, Sally (7:00 p.m.)

Approx. 10 SV neighbors were present.

An agenda was formulated with the following list of items:

    Approval of Minutes

     Homeless camp

     Plan approvals

     Solicitors

     Block Captains

     Tennis court signs

     Crier

Approval of Minutes

The minutes from the meeting of 1/21/03 were reviewed. No motion was made to approve them.

Signs for parks

After a discussion of the status of the signs for the parks,

It was M/S/C to authorize the expenditure of up to $300 for five signs and posts.

Homeless camp and solicitors.

There was extensive discussion about the problems posed by the homeless camp at the top of the Marlow Drive loop by the freeway ramp as well as people soliciting money door to door. It was agreed that the Crier should be used to alert the neighborhood to the situation as well as to suggest that neighbors call OPD to report suspicious activity, and that the City of Oakland website might also have a reporting mechanism.

Plan Approvals.

306 Covington: Upon recommendation of the Plans Chair,

It was M/S/C to approve the remodeling plans as presented by the homeowner.

239 Covington: Upon recommendation of the Plans Chair,

It was M/S/C to approve the remodeling plans as presented by the homeowner.

287 Covington: Upon recommendation of the Plans Chair,

It was M/S/C to approve the remodeling plans as presented by the homeowner.

3027 Roxbury: Upon recommendation of the Plans Chair,

It was M/S/C to approve the remodeling plans as presented by the homeowner.

It was M/S/C to offer Catherine Graham $110/month to produce ten issues of The Crier.
