| I just had my hardwood floors refinished (for the first time in the life of the house!).
The guy who did the work was fabulous! Careful, conscientious, clean, informed me of all costs before during and after,
did a little extra work at no charge (replace two boards that were warped), started and finished on time and all while I was at work! I had
worked with him while house sitting a friends rental unit 2 years ago and would highly recommend him for professionalism, price and high
quality work! (He does floors other than wood too) |

| There are at least two female dentists at this office and both are
highly recommended. Cleanings and examinations are performed by the actual dentists -- not by assistants. Very thorough and very professional. Highly recommended. |

| We've had many neighbors in the Village ask us about our beautiful landscaping. It was done by Oakland Landscaping. We looked at many bids and theirs was very fair. They are also licensed and carry worker's comp. Their workers were there every day from 7:00 am sharp to 3:00. They were professional and did a great job. We have been more than happy with their work and if you walk by our house, you can see the great job they did. They also did the flagstone walkway. We highly recommend them. |

A villager writes, "We recently lost our DSL connection when Telocity went under. Can anyone in the village recommend an alternative broadband provider? Apparently we are too far from the switch to permit PacBell DSL". Please respond to

Response to DSL Inquiry
I have a 192k SDSL connection through DSL.NET at my house at 44
Danbury. ADSL and SDSL only work for locations up to 15000 feet from
the CO. If your house is more than 15000 feet away, then they will
dispatch technicians to your house to run line tests. In my case, I
was able to get the 192k connection after getting the run-around for
weeks. The connection is slower than I'm used to, but is the only
economical solution I've found. DSL.NET is okay, but I've heard
better comments about SpeakEasy. Both companies are ISPs that work
with Covad and PacBell for the actual provisioning.
If the technicians say that you are too far from the CO for SDSL,
then you should be able to get a 144k iDSL connection. This is a
cross between ISDN and DSL technologies that works for locations
farther than 15k feet from the CO.
Costs for fractional T1s start at around $400 a month if you need
more bandwidth and are less concerned about the price. DSL.NET and
SpeakEasy should be cheaper than PacBell for T1s.
According to AT&Ts website, cable modems are not available at 44
Danbury.
